Why do moving clean and deep clean services cost more than a standard clean?
It’s astonishing how dirty even a clean home can look when all of the furniture and decor is removed; a house that looked pretty decent with everything in place might not meet the same standard when everything has been removed. Moving cleans and deep cleans require a more detailed cleaning than a standard (or routine) cleaning. When we clean, our primary goal is that the home is restored to as “like new” condition as is possible so that you or new tenants can start fresh. In order to maintain this quality level, a lot of time and effort (as well as supplies) are used to clean what has accumulated over months or even years of use.
What do I need to do to prepare for cleaning services?
Please clear the floor from any toys, clothing, or other personal belongings and secure any sensitive documents or items to prevent damage that may be caused by cleaning products and equipment. Please make sure your outside waste can that you use for collection is accessible and has enough room for disposal, or designate an area for us to use for waste storage until your waste collection services can be completed. We also ask that you have heating or air conditioning set to a comfortable temperature, or communicate beforehand if this is not possible. If oven cleaning is included with your service, please run the self clean setting prior to our arrival, if the appliance has the option. If refrigerator cleaning is included with your service, please clean out any expired or empty items and leave it as empty as possible so that perishable items don’t have to sit out (we recommend scheduling refrigerator cleaning a day or two before you plan to restock).
If you are receiving a move in/out clean, please make sure to walk through the home to make sure that all cabinets, drawers, closets, and rooms have been emptied of all belongings and any furniture that is not staying in the home after moving has been completed.
It is important to note that we do not carry the certifications or insurance required to provide services such as hazardous waste removal, pest control, outdoor services, etc.
How long will it take to clean my home?
There are a lot of factors to be considered when estimating the time it will take to clean a home, from total square footage, to how often routine and deep cleaning has taken place in your home, to what cleaning service you request. Because of these factors, and because we pride ourselves in getting the job done right, we do not charge by the hour. Typically, cleans can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, or longer, depending on the condition of the home prior to our arrival. We will do our best to estimate the time your clean will take when giving you your quote, so that you can schedule accordingly, and will communicate any changes to that estimate as they arise. In the case of areas/items with considerable build up from heavy use or neglected cleaning, it may take a few visits to return them to as "like new" condition as is possible.
How much will it cost?
We charge by square footage of the areas to be cleaned using tiered pricing that accounts for property condition, how often the home is routinely cleaned, and the service you may be inquiring about. It is important to us that our contractors are compensated not only for their time and efforts, but for the costs of supplies and equipment needed to complete the job. As well, we are willing to work with your budget by removing tasks or only focusing on certain areas. Typically higher costs are associated with first time cleans, with a lower price per square foot applied for recurring cleans to account for the improvements in property condition/soil level as we provide cleaning for your home.
Do I need to be home for my clean?
It’s entirely up to you and what you feel more comfortable with. If you choose to be away when we arrive, please make sure to let us know how we can gain access to the property. As well, if you live in a gated community, please provide us with your guest gate code ahead of time.
What do I do with my pets?
While we love pets, we recognize that having strangers in their home can be stressful for your pet(s) and can lead to harmful or aggressive behavior. In order to keep everyone safe and happy, please keep your pets secured in a comfortable location, with plenty of water. If you will not be home while the cleaning takes place, please leave them in an area that we do not need to access for cleaning.
How often should I schedule cleaning services?
There are a few factors to consider for this question to be answered, and the most important thing to consider is your budget and how often you are able to do upkeep yourself. Typically, we recommend that general upkeep (cleaning up spills, taking out trash, sweeping/vacuuming, etc) is done on a weekly basis, and deep cleaning at least quarterly.
